 Belton Classic

The Belton Classic is played for those players who do not advance from the qualifying round to the main draw of 32. This insures all players who enter the Palmetto will have at least two singles matches and should plan to stay at the tournament a minimum of two days.

All players who do not advance through qualifying to the main draw of 32 are expected to participate in the Belton Classic. The Belton Classic will have no consolation.

There is not additional entry fee for the Belton Classic.

The Belton Classic is a singles only tournament for Boy’s and Girl’s 12’s, 14’s & 16’s. Matches in the Belton Classic will begin on Wednesday, June 4.

All draws will be played to conclusion. A match (first to 10 points) tiebreaker will be played in lieu of the third set in all Belton Classic matches. The date of the finals will be determined by the size of the draw; most finals are expected to be played on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.  Matches in the Belton Classic will be held at outside locations.

Matches in the Belton Classic will have no bearing on qualifying for the Southern Closed Championships.  All Belton Classic matches will count for ranking as a Level III South Carolina tournament.

Players in the Belton Classic may still play in the regular Palmetto doubles draw.
