Tournament Chairman Rex Maynard said: "This should be another well--balanced tournament. Mauldin is the defending champion, but they'll be challenged. All eight teams are evenly matched, and I look for close competition in all the singles and doubles flights. These are eight of the top teams in the state, and I expect to see them do well in the state playoffs next month. Three of the teams won state championships last year and two more were finalists in the state championships last fall."

The tournament is presented by the Belton Tennis Association in honor of the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame, which is located in the Belton Depot. Maxine LeCroy serves as Tournament Referee and will be assisted by USTA certified officials Dee Vaughn, Vince Malanga and Emily Shannon. Mark Smith serves as Tournament Director. Maynard, who established the tournament in 1987, is the Tournament Chairman.
